Weber State Wildcats
A Cat’s head in grey with purple, white, and black outline above the wordmark “WEBER STATE” in white on a banner background in purple with black trim. Added more purple and black, and the wordmark use a bolder typeface and thicker outline colors, including a thick black outline around the wordmark that appears underneath the cat head. The cat head has undergone several small but noticeable changes. Those include more purple on the cat`s cheeks, most white accents around the cat`s edges have been removed, changed eyes with more defined black outlines, a more petite mouth, and a little extra gray to define the top of the cat`s nose.
Wildcats Alternate Logo
Weber State Wildcats is a proud university with an impressive history of athletic success. As part of that legacy, the school has gone through several iterations of its logo and branding over the years. Today, we’re taking a look at some of Weber State’s alternate logos throughout its history to see how they have changed and evolved.
The first iteration was introduced in 1975 when Weber State became known as the Wildcats for their athletics teams. This logo featured two bold “W's” with a wildcat silhouette between them – representing both power and strength while still maintaining an airy feel due to its white outline on a purple background color scheme. Over time this design has been tweaked slightly but remains largely unchanged from when it was originally introduced more than 40 years ago!
Fast forward to 1997, when Weber decided it needed something new: The Wildcat Head Logo! This version featured a fierce-looking wildcat headset against vibrant colors like orange & blue – creating an eye-catching yet intimidating mark that could be used across all sports teams & departments alike! It also included subtle details such as whiskers coming out from behind ears which gave it even more character & appeal amongst students/fans alike who embraced this new era in WSU Athletics branding.
In 2013 we saw another change come about; introducing what is now known as ‘The Claw' - A modern take on classic mascot imagery featuring sharp claws reaching up skyward atop textured mountainside background adding depth & texture making for one memorable visual experience! The claw symbolizes strength, courage, and determination - values that are deeply embedded within every WildCat fan!
Lastly, we can not forget about our most recent addition: 'The Paw Print' -This sleek minimalistic design features just one paw print centered inside a circle shape iconography giving off a strong sense of prideful identity without being too loud or busy like previous designs were done before. It definitely captures the essence of what makes us so unique here at WSU while retaining the timelessness many fans have grown accustomed to!
From 75′ till the present day; Webers States Alternate Logos continue to provide fresh perspective into our ever-evolving brand identity showing the world why were so darn proud to call ourselves "Wildcats!"
