Phoenix Alternate Logo
The Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix has a long and storied history of alternate logos, each one more unique than the last. From their classic interlocking “GB” logo to their modernized take on the mythical phoenix, these logos capture the spirit of this proud university. Let's look at some of their most iconic designs throughout the years!
The first alternate logo for Wisconsin-Green Bay was introduced in 1984 when they adopted an interlocking “GB” as part of its official branding. Many other universities and professional teams have used this simple yet effective design since then, but it will always be associated with Green Bay's athletic program thanks to its timelessness.
In 1995, Green Bay unveiled another new logo that featured an anthropomorphic phoenix with wings spread wide in front of a flaming basketball hoop - perfect for any sports fan! The bird was surrounded by stars representing academic excellence and athletic prowess, two traits essential to any successful college team or school mascot identity. Although this design didn't last long before being replaced again just four years later (1999), it is still remembered fondly today as one of Green Bay's most beloved mascots ever created!
Finally, we come to the present day, where Wisconsin-Green Bay proudly displays its updated version: A vibrant orange flame emanating from beneath a fierce-looking Phoenix head silhouette set against a navy blue background complete with white trimming around all edges - a truly spectacular sight! This latest incarnation captures everything that makes us so passionate about our favorite collegiate teams: prideful tradition combined with modern style & flair. Make sure no matter who you root for out there on game days, and you can always show your support loud & proud, wearing your own GBPX gear from head to toe without hesitation!
