Flames Alternate Logo

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Flames have a long and storied history in the NCAA. As one of the oldest teams in college sports, they’ve had multiple logos throughout their time as a member school. Today, we’re going to take a look at UIC Flames' alternate logo history and how it has evolved over the years.

The first iteration of an alternate logo for UIC came about during their inaugural season back in 1982 when they adopted an interlocking “UCF” monogram with flames shooting out from each letter on either side. This particular design was used for several years before being replaced by another version featuring two separate flame designs along with “FLAMES” written underneath them both in an all-caps font style that would be used up until 1996 when yet another new design was introduced which featured just one large flame encompassing most of the wordmark while still keeping “FLAMES" underneath it all spelled out again using an all-caps font style. This iteration lasted until 2002 when yet another new version dropped that saw some minor changes made such as adding more detail to each individual letter within "Flames". The final alteration occurred prior to the 2009 season when "Flames" was removed entirely leaving only two interlocked letters surrounded by fire - UCF - this is what remains today as an official secondary mark for UIC's athletic programs!

Throughout its evolution, one thing has remained consistent: The use of red and yellow colors associated with fire which is also present on the team's primary logo too – makes sure there's never any confusion between the main identity & its secondary variant! It is clear that these iterations have been carefully crafted over time so fans can recognize them no matter what year or era they are viewing from – something many other universities struggle to achieve success across various sports franchises/teams alike!
