Flames Wordmark Logo
The UIC Flames have a long and proud history in the NCAA, with their iconic wordmark logo playing an important role. The original version of the logo was introduced in 1999 when UIC first joined Division I athletics. It featured a stylized “U” set against a flame-shaped background, as well as two stars to represent victory. This design has evolved over time but still retains its core elements—the “U” and flames—while incorporating new details such as additional stars or different font styles for the lettering.
In 2005, UIC unveiled an updated version of its wordmark that featured more modern fonts and bolder colors for increased visibility on uniforms or merchandise designs. This update also included changes to the flame shape itself; it was made larger and more angular to better reflect movement while still preserving its classic look from before. In addition to this change, they added two additional stars at either side of the "U" which symbolizes strength through unity - something that is very important within collegiate sports teams today!
Today's iteration features even brighter colors than before along with sharper edges on both sides of each star – all designed to make sure everyone knows who you're rooting for when you wear your favorite piece of Flames apparel! The current design also includes subtle nods toward Chicago's skyline by featuring three buildings behind each star - representing how far this team has come since joining Division I back in 1999!
Overall, it is clear that much thought went into designing these logos throughout UIC’s history–making them some truly memorable pieces not only among college sports fans but around campus too! Whether cheering from home or attending games live at our stadium (or any other!), there will always be one thing connecting us all together: Our beloved Flame Wordmark Logo.
