Nittany Lions Alternate Logo
The Penn State Nittany Lions have had a long and storied history of logos, beginning with the first logo in 1895. The original logo featured a lion’s head surrounded by an oval-shaped shield that is still seen today. In 1948, the iconic blue and white “Nittany Lion Logo” was introduced which has been used ever since to represent the university's athletic teams. Since then, various alternate logos have been created for special occasions or commemorations such as Big 10 Championships or bowl games.
One of these alternate logos is known as "The Block S", which features two large block letters 'S' on either side of a smaller letter 'P'. This symbolizes both Penn State University's initials while also representing strength and power through its bold design aesthetic. Another popular alternate logo is called “Rallying Lion," which features an illustrated lion standing up against its opponents with fists raised in victory; this symbolizes courage and determination within any situation one may face during their time at Penn State University.
Overall, there are many different designs available to show school spirit when cheering on the Nittany Lions! Each unique design carries its own message about what it means to be part of this great institution; whether you choose one specific logo over another really comes down to personal preference but all carry similar meanings - pride for your team & school!
