Bears Alternate Logo
For decades, the Northern Colorado Bears have been proudly representing their community and university with a unique logo. The iconic bear has become synonymous with the school’s spirit and pride, but it wasn’t always this way. In fact, there have been several iterations of the team's alternate logos over its history.
The original design featured a black-and-white image of a grizzly bear standing upright on two legs in front of an outline of mountains and pine trees – all set against an orange background to represent Northern Colorado’s home state color. This classic look was used for more than 20 years before being replaced by another version in 1997 that included subtle changes like adding blue accents to emphasize UNC's connection to nearby Fort Collins' city colors as well as updating some features such as making the eyes larger for better visibility from afar or up close at games or events Additionally, this new logo also had more detailed shading which made it appear even more realistic than ever before!
In 2011 yet another update occurred when they unveiled their current iteration - featuring a fierce-looking brown bear head facing forward while sporting his signature navy blue “NC” cap (which stands for "Northern Colorado") along with white stars on either side; giving off both patriotic vibes but also remaining true to UNC's traditional style choices! This modernized design is still seen today across campus buildings/grounds & merchandise alike - proving just how timeless these symbols can be no matter what decade we're living in currently!
Overall, it is clear that through each redesigning process over time; Northern Colorado has taken great care in creating meaningful versions that capture not only who they are now but where they started from too - making them one symbol both students & alumni can rally behind together without fail every single year... Go Bears!!
