Lumberjacks Alternate Logo

In recent years, Northern Arizona University's athletic teams have become increasingly popular and recognizable. As a result, the school has developed an alternate logo to accompany its traditional "Lumberjacks" look. This article will explore the history of this unique design and how it has evolved over time.

The first iteration of the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks' alternate logo was introduced in 1997 as part of a rebranding effort for the university’s athletics program. The design featured an axe-wielding lumberjack with his arms crossed, set against a forest green background with white lettering that read “NAU LUMBERJACKS” above him. This version remained relatively unchanged until 2004 when it was updated to include more detail, such as adding yellow stars around his head and giving him facial features like eyes and eyebrows that gave him character while still keeping true to its original concept

As time went on further changes were made including introducing various color schemes such as blue or black backgrounds instead of green; however, none of these variations lasted long before being replaced by yet another redesign in 2009 which included elements from both previous versions but also added some new ones like flames surrounding parts of his body symbolizing strength & determination while also making sure he remained faithful to NAU's mascot identity Furthermore other minor tweaks were done over next few years including changing size/shape/color certain aspects so they better fit overall look & feel desired

By 2013 final version had been finalized which kept the same general idea but made slight modifications here there giving an even stronger sense of power behind the image – most notably the addition of three large axes within the circle at the center topmost layer (which now appears in all current merchandise). All combined these changes created an iconic visual representation of what NAU stands for hardworking individuals who are dedicated to achieving success no matter the odds stacked against them!
