Fighting Hawks Alternate Logo

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks are a proud and long-standing NCAA Division I athletics member. They have had some memorable moments as one of the most successful collegiate athletic programs. One consistent thing is their alternate logo, which has changed over time to reflect the evolution of the team’s identity.

The original Fighting Hawk logo was created in 1981 and featured an aggressive hawk with wings spread wide against a blue background with gold accents. This design was used until 1994 when it was updated to make it more modern and dynamic while still keeping its classic feel intact. The new version featured a larger image of a hawk perched on top of two crossed swords and bolder colors for added impact and recognition value among fans across all sports divisions within college athletics at that time.

In 2009, another redesign took place where the bird's head became slightly more stylized while retaining its overall shape from previous iterations; this allowed for more effortless reproduction on various mediums, such as apparel or signage, without losing any detail or quality in terms of process printing technology available then. It also included several minor changes like adding feathers around the neck area, the beak being shaped differently, etc..to give it a unique look compared to earlier versions. Finally, in 2016, North Dakota unveiled yet another iteration, which saw further refinement, including slight color adjustments, making the yellow hue brighter than before, and adding a metallic sheen, giving the whole logo a sharper appearance!
