Skyhawks Alternate Logo

The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks have a long and storied history of athletic excellence. As one of the premier universities in the NCAA, they've had some incredible teams throughout their time competing at the Division I level. But what many people may not know is that they also have an alternate logo that has been around for decades.

The original design was created in 1995 by former UM student Michael Bostick and featured a stylized hawk head with wings spread wide atop a shield featuring three stars representing UT Martin's commitment to academics, athletics, and service to its community. The colors chosen were blue and gold—the school's official colors—and it remains unchanged today as part of their official branding package used on all marketing materials associated with University Athletics programs.

In recent years, however, UT Martin has added new variations on this classic design including an updated version from 2016 which features more detailed shading along with bolder lettering for “UTM” across the center section of the shield; plus another variation released just last year which sports even sharper details along with larger stars flanking each side (representing both academic achievement & athletic success). Both versions are widely seen throughout campus sporting events & other university activities/events related to UTM Athletics programs as well as being prominently displayed on various merchandise items like t-shirts & hats sold through local retailers or online outlets such as Amazon or Fanatics Sports Apparel sites etc.

Overall these logos serve to represent both pride & tradition within UTM’s proud alumni base while also providing something unique that helps promote recognition among prospective students looking into attending this great institution located right here in West Tennessee!
