Golden Eagles Alternate Logo

The Marquette Golden Eagles' alternate logo history is an interesting one. It dates back to the school's founding in 1881 when it was known as the Milwaukee Normal School. The original logo featured a golden eagle with its wings spread wide and talons extended, perched atop a shield bearing two crossed swords. This design has remained largely unchanged for over 130 years and continues to be used by the university today as part of its official branding identity.

In recent years, however, Marquette University has adopted several new logos that serve as alternatives to its traditional crest-style emblem. In 2010 they unveiled an updated version of their classic bird mascot which features more vibrant colors and sharper lines than before while still maintaining some elements from earlier designs such as the crossed swords on either side of its body.
