Golden Eagles Alternate Logo
The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles have a long and proud history of athletics excellence, stretching back to their first NCAA appearance in 1940. Over the years, they've developed a unique identity that's been celebrated by fans all over the country. One important part of this identity is its alternate logo - an iconic symbol that has become synonymous with Tennessee Tech athletics.
In 2012, the university unveiled its new alternate logo for use on apparel and other merchandise related to Golden Eagles sports teams. This design was inspired by two elements: The school’s original seal from 1937-1960 featuring an eagle surrounded by a sunburst pattern; and its current primary mark which features “TTU” written out in bold font across three lines inside an oval shape with wings extending outward at each side (representing flight). The result was a modernized version of these two symbols combined into one powerful image – showing off both the past and present success of Tennessee Tech Athletics!
The new design quickly gained popularity among fans as well as alumni who had graduated during those decades when it served as the official school seal – making it instantly recognizable around campus or wherever you see someone wearing TTU gear! It also serves another purpose: helping distinguish between different sports teams within the same college athletic program since some schools may share similar colors/logos but not necessarily exact same style/designs for each individual sports team (i.e., football vs basketball).
Today, this distinctively designed mark continues to be used proudly throughout TTU's many athletic programs - including baseball & softball games where players often wear caps bearing either just "TT" or full "Tennessee Technological University" lettering alongside golden eagle head silhouette featured prominently front-and-center atop bill area above brim line! So whether you're watching your favorite team play live at the home stadium or cheering them on from afar online…you can always feel connected knowing there will always be something special about being part of such a passionate fan base thanks largely due to recognition given towards our beloved mascot through his own unique insignia representing us all here at TennesseeTechGoldenEaglesNation!!
