Bulldogs Alternate Logo

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have a long and storied history with their alternate logo. Since the 1970s, the university has used various versions of its iconic bulldog mascot to represent them in athletics. From classic black-and-white designs to modern takes on the beloved character, each iteration has been an important part of Louisiana Tech's identity.

In 1976, Louisiana Tech unveiled its first alternate logo: a cartoonish bulldog wearing sunglasses and giving two thumbs up while holding a football in his mouth. This design was used for several years until 1982 when it was replaced by another version that featured more realistic features such as fur detailing around the eyes and nose area as well as better shading throughout its body shape.

As time went on, other variations were created including one that had three stars above its head representing “Tech” (short for Technological University). The most recent incarnation came out in 1999 featuring an angry-looking dog with bulging muscles ready to take down any opponent who stands before him! It quickly became popular among fans due to its intimidating yet humorous appearance; this is still seen today at many sporting events across campus or even online merchandise stores selling memorabilia-related items like t-shirts or hats bearing this image proudly displayed upon them!

While some may view these changes over time as simply being done for aesthetic purposes only – there are deeper meanings behind each design choice made by those responsible for creating these logos all along: they wanted something that would capture both spirit & strength associated with being part of such an esteemed institution while also making sure it remained recognizable enough so everyone could easily recognize what school they represented no matter where they were located geographically speaking!
