Cyclones Wordmark Logo

The Iowa State Cyclones wordmark logo has been a symbol of pride and tradition since its inception in the late 1800s. The original design featured an interlocking “IS” with a small cardinal perched atop it, which was meant to represent strength and power. In 1996, Iowa State adopted its current wordmark logo featuring two bold block letters “I” and “S” stacked on top of each other with an angular tail extending from the bottom right corner of the letter S to create more depth within the overall design.
