Utes Wordmark Logo
The University of Utah's Utes wordmark logo has been a part of the school's history for over 100 years. The first iteration of the logo was created in 1915 and featured an image of a Native American man wearing traditional clothing, with feathers in his hair and carrying a spear. This design was used until 1948 when it was replaced by another version that removed all imagery related to Native Americans.
In 2002, the university decided to update its logo once again; this time it opted for something more modern while still honoring its past. The new design features an italicized script font spelling out "UTES" with two arrows pointing outward from each letter symbolizing strength and speed - attributes associated with athletic teams at the University of Utah since its founding in 1892.
Today, this updated version is one of many logos used by the university but remains one that has stood strong through generations as well as recognizable across multiple platforms such as apparel or digital media outlets like social media accounts or websites representing various departments within campus life at Utah Utes athletics programs alike!
