Dolphins Wordmark Logo
The Jacksonville Dolphins have a long and storied history that is represented in their wordmark logo. The original design was created in 1958 when the school first opened its doors, and it has been updated several times over the years to reflect changes in style as well as technological advances.
In its earliest incarnation, the logo featured an orange dolphin leaping out of a blue ocean wave with “Jacksonville” written across it. This version remained unchanged until 1996 when new technology allowed for more intricate designs to be produced quickly and affordably. In response, the university chose to update its wordmark logo by adding two stars above each letter of “Jacksonville” while keeping all other elements intact – including the iconic leaping dolphin at center stage!
Since then, there have been minor tweaks made here or there but overall this classic design remains largely unaltered today; which speaks volumes about how much pride alumni take in representing their alma mater through this timeless symbol! It's also worth noting that although some may think otherwise - no matter what year your degree was earned from Jacksonville University - you can still proudly display your Dolphin spirit with this recognizable emblem on apparel or memorabilia alike!
