Skyhawks Primary Logo
The Stonehill Skyhawks logo is a source of pride and nostalgia for sports fans. The college has used the iconic design since its inception in 1932, and it remains an integral part of its identity today. In this blog post, we’ll look at the history behind Stonehill’s primary logo and how it has become one of college athletics' most recognizable symbols.
The original design for the Stonehill Skyhawks logo was created in 1932 when school founder Father John J. McEleney chose an image that symbolized strength, courage, loyalty, and honor – all qualities he wanted his students to embody during their time at Stonehill College. The emblem featured two hawks facing each other with wings outstretched as if they were ready for flight or battle; below them was a shield adorned with gold stars on either side, representing academic and athletic excellence within the school community.
Since then, only minor changes have been made to keep up with changing trends while still maintaining its classic look; such updates include altering colors from blue/gold to navy/silver as well as tweaking some aspects of lettering throughout various versions over decades past (e..g., “SBC” instead “STHLL"). Despite these minor alterations, however, certain elements remain consistent across all iterations, including two hawks facing each other atop a shield-shaped background surrounded by stars along either side - making it instantly recognizable no matter where you see it!
Today's version features modern fonts that give off more contemporary vibes than previous designs but also maintain traditional touches like embossed lettering around edges or subtle shading effects on birds. It's clear that designers have taken great care not just preserving historical integrity but also adding new visual appeal so everyone can appreciate what makes this particular mark special - whether they're long-time supporters cheering from stands or casual viewers flipping through channels looking for something exciting watch!
