Bulldogs Wordmark Logo

The Fresno State Bulldogs have a long and storied history in college sports, with their iconic wordmark logo being one of the most recognizable symbols of that success. The first iteration of the logo was introduced in 1983 when Fresno State joined the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). It featured an interlocking “FS” inside a shield with two stars above it. This symbolized both strength and pride for Fresno State athletics, as well as representing its status within NCAA Division I-A.

Over time, minor changes were made to refine this design such as adding more detail to the shield or changing from red to black lettering on white background. In 1994 however, major changes were made when new athletic director Jim Bartko decided that it was time for an upgrade from what had become somewhat outdated by then standards; introducing a bolder look that included larger letters and sharper edges around them – all set against a bright red background instead of white – creating what is now known today simply as ‘the Bulldog Logo’!

The current version has been used since 1998 but continues to be refined over time - including subtle tweaks like making sure each element is perfectly aligned or removing some unnecessary details while keeping others intact so they still remain recognizable even at smaller sizes - proving just how much care goes into preserving its classic yet modern appeal!

As far back as 1983 up until present day 2021; no matter where you go whether it's at home games or across social media platforms; there will always be someone proudly wearing their favorite team's colors along with this timeless emblem emblazoned upon them: showing off not only loyalty but also admiration towards those who have come before us & continue pushing forward our beloved Bulldogs' legacy every single season!
