Jaguars Wordmark Logo

The Southern Jaguars are a college athletics program based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They compete at the NCAA Division I level and have been part of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) since 2013. The University of Southern Jaguars has had an iconic wordmark logo for many years that is used across all sports teams and departments within their athletic program.

The original version of the logo was created in 1984 when it featured a jaguar head with its mouth open to reveal its sharp teeth, accompanied by “Southern” written out above it in bold letters. In 2006, this design was updated to feature more modern colors such as black, gray, and yellow instead of just red which made up most of the old design's color palette. Additionally, they added two stripes on either side to further emphasize their branding identity while also making sure that no other school could replicate or copy their unique look easily without facing legal repercussions from USJ’s trademark office department if need be taken into action against them due to copyright infringement laws put into place by United States government agencies like U S Patent & Trademark Office Department (USPTO).

Over time this new version became synonymous with USJ Athletics programs as well as being seen around campus during sporting events or other activities taking place there throughout year-round seasons; especially football season where fans can spot multiple banners displaying these logos proudly amongst student body cheering section thus showing how much pride students take representing university through visual symbols associated closely alongside name itself which goes show deep-rooted connection between both entities over last few decades now gone past us but still remembered fondly those who attended school back then those currently attending today will continue to carry the torch forward long after graduation day come upon them final time before moving onto next stage life outside walls academy grounds themselves one thing certain though regardless future holds: spirit southern jaguars never die!
