Colonials Wordmark Logo

For sports fans, the wordmark logo of a team can be just as important to them as the players on the field. The Robert Morris Colonials have had an exciting history regarding their wordmark logos over the years.

The first version of this logo was created in 2002 and featured a block letter “RMC” with two crossed swords behind it. This logo was used until 2008, when they switched to a more modern design featuring an italicized “RMU” with two stars above it – one blue and one white – representing both colors found in their school crest.

In 2015, they decided to take things even further by introducing another new look for their brand identity; this time, they opted for something that better represented what Robert Morris stands for innovation, excellence, and success through hard work and dedication. The current version features bolder letters arranged into three distinct shapes - resembling mountains or steps - while incorporating elements from previous designs, such as stars (now gold), along with red accents throughout, giving off a sense of power & strength associated with RMU athletics programs today!

Overall, we can see how much thought has gone into each iteration of this iconic symbol since its inception nearly 20 years ago, ultimately creating something that will continue standing out amongst other collegiate sporting teams well into future generations!
