Royals Wordmark Logo
We will examine the history of Queens University Royals' wordmark logos and their NCAA affiliation.
The Queens University Royals have been around since 1857 when they were founded as Charlotte Female Institute. Since then, they have undergone numerous name changes before settling on “Queens University of Charlotte” in 2002. The school has also had several different wordmark logos throughout its long history.
The earliest logo for the school was adopted in 1895 and featured a shield with crossed swords behind it and two lions flanking either side of the shield with an ornate crown above it all - symbolizing strength, power, protection & royalty, respectively, which is fitting for such an esteemed institution like Queen's university! This logo remained unchanged until 1959, when minor adjustments were made to make it more modern while still retaining its classic elements from before; these included simplifying some details on both sides of the shield but keeping everything else intact (including colors).
In 2003 however, things changed drastically once again when Queen's decided to break away from traditional design methods by introducing a completely new logo that featured only one lion instead two - this time without any other imagery or text accompanying him/her; just pure simplicity & elegance that perfectly embodies what makes up this excellent university today: excellence in academics & athletics alike!
Finally, many years later (in 2019), another significant change occurred, after which now there are three versions available for use depending upon context: one featuring collegiate lettering style font alongside our beloved lion mascot plus his/her crown atop all else; another utilizing sans-serif font typeface along with various geometric shapes forming together into something resembling wingspan shape hovering over top said royal creature below them both representing freedom & limitless possibilities available here at QUC; lastly there is yet another version which contains just our lion standing proud against solid background color palette without anything extra cluttering up space around him or her – perfect encapsulating spirit found within us each day no matter what challenge may come our way next...
As far as NCAA affiliations go, though? Well, let me tell you – Queen's has always been part of the Division II conference ever since joining back in 1996, so rest assured knowing your favorite team will continue competing against the best competition out there year round regardless of schools decide to switch divisions down the road sometime soon too.
