Ragin Cajuns Wordmark Logo
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have been a part of the NCAA for over 50 years, and in that time they have gone through several different wordmark logos. The current logo has become an iconic symbol of the school's athletic program, but its history is just as interesting.
The first wordmark logo used by the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns was created in 1971 when they joined Division I-A (now FBS). This original design featured a simple script font with “LOUISIANA” written above and “RAGEIN CAJUNS” below it. It didn't take long before this design was replaced by one featuring a more stylized font with bolder lettering.
In 1998, another major change came to the team's logo when their traditional colors were switched from green and gold to red and black. Along with this color update came an updated version of their original wordmark which featured sharper angles on all four sides as well as thicker lines for each letter in "RAGEIN CAJUNS". This new look proved popular among fans who embraced it wholeheartedly during its ten-year run until 2008 when yet another redesign took place.
In 2008, The University unveiled what would become known as its modern-day classic: A sleek white sans serif typeface set against two shades of blue background stripes featuring both "Louisiana" at the top center position followed by "Ragin' Cajun" at the bottom center position; all enclosed within thick white borders giving off strong vibes or royalty & pride - something that still stands true today!
With a such rich history behind them - even though there may be some minor tweaks here & there along the way - rest assured that no matter where you go around campus or beyond you will always see those familiar words proudly displayed representing ULL Athletics!
