Hatters Wordmark Logo

For over 140 years, the Stetson Hatters have been a staple in American culture. From its beginnings as a small hat shop in Philadelphia to become one of the most recognizable brands in the world, Stetson has come a long way. With that said, it’s no surprise that their iconic wordmark logo has an interesting history behind it.

The original version of this logo was created back in 1921 and featured two crossed arrows with “Stetson” written underneath them. This design was used for many decades until it underwent some minor changes during World War II when metal shortages forced manufacturers to reduce costs by using less material on products like hats and clothing labels. As such, they decided to remove one arrow from the design which resulted in what we now know as today's classic "Stetson" wordmark logo: two letters stacked atop each other with an elongated crossbar between them (the remaining arrow).

In recent years, there have been some slight variations made to this timeless symbol but overall its core elements remain unchanged; including those same stylized letters and crossed arrows that serve as reminders of where Stetsons' humble roots began all those years ago! The company continues to proudly use this iconic mark on everything from hats and apparel items right down through promotional materials like posters or advertisements – proving once again why sometimes simple is best!
