Jaguars Wordmark Logo

The South Alabama Jaguars are proud members of the NCAA, and their wordmark logo has been part of their identity since they began competing in Division I athletics. The current version of the logo was unveiled in 2016, but its roots go back much further than that.

In 2009, South Alabama adopted a new look for its athletic programs with an updated “Jaguar” mark. This design featured two jaguars facing each other and holding up USA letters on either side to form an arch over them. It also included several stars around it to represent the school's five-star rating from U.S News & World Report at that time as well as three stripes representing both American pride and Jaguar spirit along with colors red white and blue which were used throughout all sports teams uniforms during this period

In 2013, another update came when they changed out some details such as adding more detail into the jaguar faces while keeping similar features like star patterning within circles surrounding them plus changing up the color scheme slightly by replacing one shade blue with navy blue making it darker overall yet still maintaining same core elements from the previous iteration. As time went on though eventually, 2016 saw the release newest rendition featuring a bolder font choice for the text portion plus the removal of any additional flourishes outside the main focal points giving a cleaner simpler aesthetic appeal overall.

Overall since its first introduction nearly a decade ago South Alabama's Wordmark Logo has gone through various changes, order keeps pace ever-evolving landscape of college athletics today while staying true original vision set forth long ago – creating something distinct and memorable that stands out among the rest!
