Rams Wordmark Logo

The Colorado State Rams have a long and storied history that dates back to the early 1900s. From its inception, they have used various wordmark logos to represent its athletic program. The current logo is an evolution of the original design and has become synonymous with CSU athletics over time.

The first official wordmark for Colorado State University was introduced in 1957 when the school changed its name from Colorado A&M to CSU (Colorado State University). This logo featured “CSU” written in bold block letters surrounded by a green circle with white trimming on either side — colors that remain part of the university's identity today.

In 1979, this iconic look was updated slightly by adding two ram horns above “CSU” as well as incorporating more modern typefaces into the design; however, it retained much of its original look and feel throughout these changes. In 2003, another subtle update took place which saw minor tweaks made such as switching out some lettering styles and making slight adjustments to other elements within it like shading effects or font sizes so that all components worked together better visually overall.

Over time this version became increasingly popular among fans due largely in part because it had been around for so many years already – plus there were also plenty of merchandise items featuring this particular mark available at stores across campus too! It wasn't until 2015 though when yet another redesign occurred but unlike previous ones where only small alterations were made here instead major revisions happened including replacing both rams' horns with a single one while simultaneously changing up typeface choices once again giving us what we now know today: our beloved Ram Wordmark Logo!

While there may be other designs associated with CSU Athletics out there none are quite like ours – something that makes us stand apart from everyone else & shows just how proud we are about being Rams through & through no matter what season or sport might be playing at any given moment!
