Golden Lions Wordmark Logo

The Arkansas-PB Golden Lions have a long and proud history that is represented in their wordmark logo. The first iteration of the logo was created in 1965 when the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) changed its name from Branch Normal College to UAPB. This new identity featured an image of a lion with “UAPB” written beneath it, symbolizing strength and power. Over time, this original design has evolved into what we know today as the iconic Arkansas-PB Golden Lions wordmark logo.

Today's version features two gold lions facing each other on either side of an arched ‘Arkansas PB’ text which is outlined by a black border - representing unity among students and alumni alike. Additionally, there are two stars at each end which represent excellence while also paying homage to both state flags – one for Arkansas and one for Pine Bluff – merging all aspects together under one unified banner: The Arkansa-PB Golden Lions!

Finally, this powerful symbol serves as more than just an identifier; it stands tall as a representation not only for current students but also all past alumni who were part of making UAPB such a great institution over its 150+ year history! It represents pride in being part of something greater than oneself - something that will be remembered forever through this timeless emblem known simply as 'the golden lion.'
