Tigers Wordmark Logo

The Clemson Tigers wordmark logo has a long and storied history. It dates back to the 1950s, when it was first used on paper products such as stationery and letterheads. The iconic orange paw print was added in 1955, creating a unique visual identity for the university that still stands today.

The original design of the logo featured an orange tiger head with white eyes set against an oval border of blue and white stripes - representing both Clemson's colors at that time (orange & purple) as well as its ties to South Carolina's state flag. Over time, this design evolved into what we know today: A more simplified version featuring just the words "Clemson" in bold sans-serif font along with two large paws flanking either side of it - one facing up and one down in order to represent balance between school spirit & academic excellence.

Today, this classic symbol is recognized around campus by students, alumni & fans alike; it appears everywhere from apparel items like t-shirts or hats all the way up to stadium banners during home football games! No matter where you go on campus or who you talk too about their affiliation with Clemson University – chances are they’ll have something positive (or at least nostalgic!)to say about its beloved wordmark logo!
