Tigers Primary Logo
The Clemson Tigers have a long and storied history, with their primary logo being no exception. The first version of the logo was created in 1970 when the school changed its name from Clemson Agricultural College to Clemson University. This original design featured two tigers facing each other, with one paw on top of an orange ball that contained a white “C” for “Clemson” inside it. It was meant to represent strength and unity among the student body as well as symbolize what makes up college athletics: teamwork, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and victory!
In 1981 there were some minor changes made to this original design; namely that both tigers now had their paws placed around the orange ball instead of just one paw on top like before. Additionally, they added more details, such as stripes down each tiger's back along with whiskers coming out from either side of its face which gave them much more character than before!
Today we still see variations of this classic logo all throughout campus, including apparel stores or even just driving by Death Valley Stadium, where you can find large banners hanging outside showing off our beloved mascot proudly wearing his signature colors – Orange & White! While times may change over time so too does our beloved logos, but at least we know that whatever comes next will always be rooted in a tradition going all way back since 1970 when it first came into existence - Go Tigers!!
