Owls Wordmark Logo

For more than 50 years, Kennesaw State University has proudly displayed its iconic logo to represent the spirit of the university and its students. The KSU Owls Wordmark Logo has been a symbol of pride for generations and continues to be an important part of the school’s identity today.

The original wordmark logo was introduced in 1965 when Kennesaw Junior College first opened its doors, featuring two owls perched atop a shield with “Kennesaw Jr College” written across it in bold letters. This design remained unchanged until 1976 when “Junior College” was dropped from the name and replaced with an updated version that included just “Kennesaw State University." In 1998, another update saw minor adjustments made to make it look more modern while still maintaining some elements from earlier versions such as retaining both owls on top of each other facing opposite directions, and keeping them within a shield shape border.

In 2016, after much anticipation by alumni and current students alike, KSU unveiled its new wordmark logo which is now used as its official mark throughout all forms of media including apparel designs as well as athletic uniforms for many collegiate sports teams at KSU including football & basketball teams among others! The latest iteration features one owl looking forward instead of two side-by-side along with subtle changes like replacing the serif typeface font style with sans serif typeface font style making this version appear sleeker than previous ones yet still paying homage to past designs by incorporating elements such as color scheme (red & black) plus adding textured lines which give off strong sense power & strength associated being part Owl Nation!

Overall this evolution shows how far Kennesaw State University has come since opening back in 1965; not only growing larger but also gaining recognition nationally due to achievements in academic excellence and extracurricular activities offered on campus – something they should proudly continue to commemorate through the use of highly recognizable symbols like Owls Wordmark Logo!
