Golden Eagles Primary Logo

It is no secret that the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have a long and storied history. With a proud tradition of excellence, it should be no surprise that their primary logo has seen its fair share of changes over time. This blog post will look at the evolution of the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles' primary logo throughout its history.

The earliest version of what would become known as the “Golden Eagle” was first used in 1971 when ORU joined Division I athletics and adopted an eagle with outstretched wings clutching an orb in its talons. This symbolized strength and faith – two core elements that ORU held even then, just like today! The colors were gold on white for many years before eventually being changed to navy blue on white in 1991; however, one thing remained constant: The iconic golden eagle remained front and center through every iteration until 2017, when it received yet another makeover!

In 2017, after more than four decades since first appearing on athletic uniforms across campus grounds –the beloved golden eagle underwent some dramatic changes with new shading techniques, giving our mascot's feathers added depth & texture while maintaining his classic silhouette from previous logos dating back to 1971! Additionally - subtle updates such as brighter eyes & sharper beaks gave him more personality without straying too far away from his original design concept - making sure he still represented all that is great about ORU Athletics: Strength and faithfulness!!

Finally – It's worth noting that despite all these alterations over time, Our Primary Logo featuring "The Golden Eagle" remains synonymous with ORU Athletics and everything else associated with our University Community - representing us proudly wherever we go!
