The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a long and storied history that dates back to the late 1800s. The team's primary logo has gone through several changes over the years, each one reflecting a different era of Cornhusker football. From its inception in 1890 until 1964, the classic red "N" was used as the school's main logo. This iconic symbol featured an outline of Nebraska surrounded by wheat ears and served as an homage to their agricultural roots.

In 1965, this design was replaced with what is now known as “the block N” which features two bold white lines crossing inside a large red square representing both strength and power while still maintaining some resemblance to its predecessor with wheat ears at each corner of the square. This version remained unchanged for 45 years before being modified slightly in 2010 when it received minor adjustments such as adding shading between sections within the letter itself making it appear more three-dimensional than ever before while still retaining all its original attributes from 1965 including the color scheme and overall shape.
