The original design featured an orange mountain lion with green eyes against a white background surrounded by two blue stripes on either side. This classic look has been updated several times to keep up with changing trends while maintaining its core elements – most notably in 2002 when they changed from an orange cat to one featuring black fur and yellow eyes, which remain today. The current version also includes more detailed shading around the face, giving it added depth and realism compared to previous iterations, making this latest iteration arguably one of their best designs yet!

The Catamounts have had many successful seasons since adopting this new look, including four NCAA tournament appearances between 2003 and 2007, along with numerous conference titles across multiple sports teams such as men's basketball (6), women's lacrosse (7) & field hockey (4). This makes them one of only six universities in America that can claim such success under different logos during that span, proving just how powerful their brand is!
