Wildcats Primary Logo
The Kansas State Wildcats have a long and proud history of sports excellence. Their primary logo has evolved over the years, reflecting their commitment to success and pride in their school. The current logo is an updated version of the original design created in 1915, which featured a wildcat standing on its hind legs with one paw raised above its head. This symbolized strength and courage, two characteristics that are still embodied by Kansas State today.
The first major update to this iconic design came in 1951 when the university replaced the black-and-white image with a bright blue color scheme featuring white lettering for "KANSAS STATE" across the top half of the logo along with an orange wildcat below it wearing purple boxing gloves as if ready for battle against any opponent who dares challenge them on or off field. In addition to these changes, minor adjustments were made throughout subsequent decades such as adding more details around the cat’s face or changing the font type used for “WILDCATS” underneath the main part so they could stay updated while keeping the essence same time – something that many fans appreciate even now!
In 2012 another significant change was made: The bold letters spelling out “KANSAS STATE WILDCATS” were removed from under the cat's feet leaving only the silhouette itself which was also slightly altered to make it look more modern yet recognizable at the same time - making sure everyone knows exactly who team represents no matter where they go! Today this timeless symbol continues to serve both players and alumni alike reminding them what makes KSU special every single day: Strength Courage & Pride!
