Ragin Cajuns Primary Logo

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are one of the most storied college athletics programs in the country, and their primary logo is a testament to that history. The iconic design has been around since 1969 when it was first introduced as part of an effort to unite all athletic teams under one unified identity. Since then, the logo has gone through several iterations over the years but remains true to its original form.

The original logo featured an aggressive-looking cartoon cayman with crossed arms and legs wearing a traditional Acadian hat known as “le béret” or “the beret” atop his head. The cayman had two large teeth protruding from his mouth which were meant to symbolize strength and courage – traits associated with being a Ragin' Cajun! This design was accompanied by bold lettering spelling out "LOUISIANA" above it in red font against a white background.

Over time, minor changes have been made such as adding additional colors like green for extra emphasis on school spirit or updating certain elements such as fonts used for text placement on apparel items; however overall this classic emblem still stands strong today across various platforms including banners at sporting events or even printed onto t-shirts worn by fans everywhere!
