Wolf Pack Primary Logo
The Nevada Wolf Pack is one of the most recognizable college sports teams in the country, and their primary logo has been an integral part of their identity since they first took to the field. The story behind this iconic logo begins over a century ago when it was first created by former coach Fred Bennion in 1895.
At that time, there were no NCAA regulations regarding logos or mascots – so Bennion designed his own unique crest featuring two wolves howling at a full moon rising above them. This image quickly became synonymous with Nevada's football team and was adopted as its official symbol shortly thereafter.
In 1923, University officials decided to update the design slightly by adding “Nevada” beneath it – which remains unchanged today! Over time though, some minor alterations have been made such as changing up colors or font styles for certain versions of the logo but overall; it still follows closely to its original design from 1895.
The current version features both silver & blue colors which are meant to represent strength & courage respectively - just like what you'd expect from any wolf pack! Additionally; these colors also reflect those found on Nevada's state flag and other university-related items such as banners/flags etc. It's clear why this particular emblem has become so popular amongst fans all around the world: not only does it capture the spirit perfectly but also honors the historical significance associated with the program itself too!
