Bulldogs Primary Logo
The Mississippi State Bulldogs' primary logo has a long and storied history. For more than 120 years, the school’s athletic teams have proudly displayed this symbol of honor and tradition on their uniforms. The current version of the logo was first introduced in 2001, but its origins can be traced back to 1895 when students at Mississippi A&M College (now known as Mississippi State University) chose a bulldog as their mascot.
Since then, there have been several iterations of the Bulldog logo used by MSU over time. In 1939, for example, an artist named Willard Davenport created an image featuring two bulldogs facing each other with “MSC” written between them—the letters standing for “Mississippi State College." This design remained in use until 1965 when it was replaced by another one that featured only one dog holding a football with its paw upraised in victory alongside three stars representing past national championships won by MSU teams during that era.
Today's version features just one snarling bulldog wearing a collar adorned with both "MS" and "State," which are printed above his head along with five stars representing all five national titles won since the 1995-96 season—the most recent being baseball championship title from 2013-14 season! It is also noteworthy that while this design has gone through some minor changes throughout its lifetime such as altering fonts or color schemes; its overall shape remains consistent which makes it instantly recognizable no matter what context it appears within!
