Titans Primary Logo

The Detroit Mercy Titans have a long and proud history of representing the city of Detroit in college sports. As one of the oldest teams in NCAA Division I, their primary logo has evolved to reflect their commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

In its earliest form, adopted when they first joined NCAA Division I back in 1960, the original logo featured an orange circle with a blue “D” inside it for “Detroit” as well as two lines below it that read “Titans – UDM” for University of Detroit Mercy. This was modified slightly by adding a white outline around both circles to give them more definition. However, it stayed unchanged until 1996, when they introduced their current version, which features an updated font style and additional elements such as stars surrounding each letter and two basketballs on either side.

The new design also includes four colors (orange, blue, black & white), representing not only school spirit but also strength & determination – qualities that all successful athletes must possess if they want success on game day! It is no surprise why this particular brand mark has become so iconic amongst sports fans everywhere: not only does it look great, but its message is clear, too - we are here to win!
