Wolverines Primary Logo
The Utah Valley Wolverines are a proud collegiate athletic program with a rich history of excellence. They have had several logos to represent their team spirit and identity as part of that tradition. It’s always interesting for sports fans to look back at the past and see how far these teams have come in branding. Today, we will be taking an in-depth look at the primary logo history for Utah Valley Wolverines!
The first version was introduced during their inaugural season 2009 as an intercollegiate athletics program competing within NCAA Division I ranks. The logo featured two wolverines facing each other while holding up UVW letters on either side – standing for ‘Utah Valley University Wolverine Athletics.' This design served as both an homage to UVU's mascot and provided some visual symmetry between all three elements (the lettering, animals & school name).
The second iteration came out shortly after when they changed their official nickname from 'Wolverine' to 'UVU Wolverine,' which meant that there needed to be another update made accordingly on all graphics-related material, including this one! This new design placed more emphasis on highlighting the university initials than before by having them right below where two wolverine silhouettes were still present but now much more significant than before so it would stand out even more prominently against any background color or texture used behind them (e.g., navy blue).
Finally, 2017 saw yet another redesign happen, featuring only one oversized silhouette instead - making sure its presence could not be missed no matter what context you viewed it under! The colors chosen here were lightened up slightly compared to previous versions, giving off brighter vibes overall, which many people found refreshingly modern looking without losing touch with traditional roots set down earlier iterations had established already priorly speaking. Additionally, additional details such as fur textures/shading plus subtle 3D effects added further depth & character into the mix, making the final result quite pleasing aesthetically speaking indeedy doo!.
It is clear why UVU has stuck with the same basic concept throughout the years despite multiple changes: the strong foundation laid down initially provides a great base to build upon whenever necessary shifts occur due to changing needs/circumstances! So next time you spot those iconic Wolverine silhouettes proudly representing your favorite school, you can rest assured knowing every element has deep meaning.
