Lions Primary Logo

The Lindenwood Lions have been a proud part of the NCAA since the early 2000s. As such, they have had plenty of time to develop and refine their iconic primary logo over the years. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some interesting facts about its logo history and how it has evolved throughout its tenure in collegiate athletics.

First off, let’s start with one of Lindenwood's earliest logos which was adopted in 2002 when they joined Division II as an independent school without conference affiliation. The original design featured two lions standing side-by-side with large paws on top of a shield that reads “Lindenwood University” across it - showing off both strength and pride for the university itself! This particular version would be used until 2006 when Lindenwood became a full member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

Next up is what many consider to be one of their most popular designs: The lion head crest from 2007 onward featuring just one lion face inside an oval shape surrounded by laurel leaves on each side - symbolizing victory! This version also included “Lions Athletics” written underneath so there was no mistaking who you were rooting for during any given game or event hosted by them at any point during those years leading up until today where they are now part of the GLIAC North division within Division II sports landscape (2020).

Finally, we come to the present day where the recently released new primary logo features updated colors while still maintaining the same basic elements found before like the lion head crest but now incorporates more modern font styles along the bottom portion; giving us a fresh yet familiar look into future branding efforts going forward as the program continues to grow even further success moving ahead into 2021 season beyond!
