Explorers Primary Logo
The La Salle Explorers have a long and storied history, dating back to the early 1900s. The team has seen many changes over the years, including its primary logo. In this post, we will take a look at how La Salle Explorers' primary logo has evolved throughout its history.
The earliest incarnation of the La Salle Explorers’ primary logo was created in 1924 when it was first introduced by then-athletic director Edward J. "Eddie" Martin Jr., who had taken over as head coach for basketball in 1923 and football in 1925 after serving as an assistant coach from 1921-1923 at his alma mater St Joseph's University. This original design featured two crossed swords with an eagle perched atop them on top of a shield that included four stars representing each season (fall/winter/spring). It also displayed “LASALLE EXPLORERS” written around it with blue lettering inside of white outlines across its bottom half.
In 1952, following World War II and several decades later under new athletic director William Egan, the school updated its iconic symbol to feature three swords instead of two while keeping all other aspects intact; this version is still used today but underwent minor modifications during subsequent years such as changing colors or adding subtle details like shading or texture effects on certain parts within its composition - most notably being done so again during 2010 when they switched out some elements like font type & sizes along with making slight alterations towards overall shape & layout arrangements which resulted into what now stands proudly before us – The modern-day representation!
Overall these various iterations serve not only to represent continuity through time but also signify prideful recognition amongst alumni & supporters alike – something that can be seen whenever you catch sight of one sporting any piece featuring said emblem whether it be apparel-related items (hats /shirts etc.) or even banners hung up around campus grounds celebrating past achievements made possible thanks largely due those same individuals who helped make them happen!
