Tigers Primary Logo

For many college sports fans, the Pacific Tigers Primary Logo is an iconic symbol of athletic excellence. The logo has been used by the University of the Pacific since 1981 and is one of the most recognizable logos in NCAA Division I athletics. It’s also a great example of how a school can take its mascot and create something that stands out from other teams’ logos while still being true to its identity.

The original design for this logo was created by graphic designer Robert Nesbit in 1981. He wanted to capture both aspects that makeup UOP's mascot: fierce determination and strength as well as gracefulness and agility with his design. To do so, he chose two tigers facing off against each other with their claws locked together - representing both sides equally without favoring either one over another (much like how competition should be). In addition, he added four stars around them - representing courage, honor, loyalty & pride which are all qualities associated with being a Tiger athlete at UOP!

The colors chosen were navy blue & orange which have become synonymous with Pacific Athletics ever since then; they even went on to become part of UOP's official school colors when they changed it from green & gold back in 2000! This primary logo has remained largely unchanged throughout its history except for some slight tweaks here or there such as adding more detail into certain parts or changing up fonts etc., but overall it remains very much similar to what we see today on jerseys/helmets/etc.

Pacific Athletics' primary logo not only represents what makes them unique amongst other schools but also serves as an inspiration for current student-athletes who strive towards greatness every day through hard work & dedication - just like those before them did decades ago when this iconic image first came about! So next time you're watching your favorite team play don't forget where it all started...with two tigers clawing away at each other ready to fight until victory comes their way!
