Eagles Primary Logo
The Boston College Eagles logo has been a symbol of pride and excellence for over 120 years. The first iteration of the logo was created in 1897 when Boston College adopted the eagle as its official mascot. Since then, several versions of the logo have evolved to reflect changing times and styles.
In 1920, an updated version was introduced, which featured a more detailed rendering of an eagle with wings outstretched in flight; this image is still used today as part of BC’s primary athletic branding identity. In 1994, another update gave us what we know now as “the swoop”—a modernized take on the traditional design featuring bolder lines and brighter colors to represent BC's spirit and energy on game day. This new look also included two interlocking Bs at either side to further signify unity among students, faculty members, alumni, and fans alike who proudly support their alma mater year-round no matter where they are located around the world!
Boston College's current Eagle Logo embodies all that it stands for: strength through unity; passion for excellence; commitment to tradition; respect for diversity—all within one iconic image that will continue representing BC Athletics to future generations with pride! It is truly a symbolic representation not only of how far our school has come but also how much farther we can go together if we stay true to ourselves while embracing progress along the way too!
