Huskies Primary Logo

The Houston Christian Huskies have a long and proud history in the NCAA. Their primary logo is an iconic representation of their school spirit and pride. The logo has gone through several iterations over the years, each one bringing its own unique flavor to the team’s identity.

The first iteration of their primary logo was introduced in 1972 when they joined Division I-A football as part of the Southwest Conference (SWC). It featured a red husky head with white fur details on top of a blue background with “HOUSTON CHRISTIAN HUSKIES” written below it in bold lettering. This version remained unchanged until 1982 when they moved from Division I-A to Division II football, at which point it was updated to include two stars above and below the husky head symbolizing excellence both on and off the field for student-athletes attending Houston Christian University (HCU).

In 1986, HCU changed its name to Texas A&M University at College Station which necessitated another update for their primary logo that same year; this time featuring an orange husky head with black fur details against a navy blue background along with “TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY AT COLLEGE STATION – HOUSTON CHRISTIAN HUSKIES” written beneath it in script font style lettering. Since then no major changes have been made except minor tweaks such as color adjustments or typography updates but the overall design remains mostly consistent across all versions released throughout history up until the present day making them recognizable even today by fans old & new alike!
