Golden Flashes Primary Logo
The Kent State Golden Flashes have a long and storied history, and their primary logo has been an integral part of that. The iconic golden flash first appeared in the 1950s as a symbol for the university’s athletic teams. Since then, it has evolved to become one of the most recognizable logos in college athletics.
When Kent State University first adopted its current name in 1959, it also unveiled its new mascot – Flash Gordon – along with his companion lightning bolt (or “flash”). This was done to honor Major Robert E. McBride Jr., who served as president from 1955-1959 at what was then known as Kent State College before being renamed to its current moniker by Governor Michael DiSalle on May 18th of that year.
In 1964, this original design underwent some minor changes when two lines were added inside each lettering element creating more dimensionality within them while still maintaining a sleek look overall; however, these alterations didn't last too long since they were dropped again shortly afterward due largely because they weren't popular among fans or alumni alike so eventually reverted back once more towards traditionalism which remains intact today!
Throughout all these years though one thing never changed: The classic gold color associated with KSU's primary logo remained constant throughout time - no matter how often other aspects may have shifted around slightly over decades past! In addition, there are now several alternate versions available such as an updated version featuring black outlines instead or even just plain white lettering without any coloring whatsoever - but regardless those iconic yellow letters will always be synonymous with Golden Flashes spirit no matter what form they take on next down the road ahead...
