Islanders Primary Logo
The Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders have a long and proud history of success in NCAA athletics. As one of the most successful teams in the Southland Conference, they've earned numerous conference championships over the years. But many fans may not know that their primary logo has undergone several changes throughout its history.
The first version of their current logo was introduced in 1998 when they joined Division I as part of the Southland Conference. It featured an orange sunburst with white stars on a navy blue background and an interlocking “A&M” at its center to represent both universities involved (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Corpus Christi State University). This design remained unchanged until 2013, when it was slightly altered for consistency purposes across all athletic programs within each university system – namely, changing from a full circle to a more oval shape and adding two additional stars representing each school's colors (orange & blue).
In 2016, another slight change occurred whereby making minor adjustments such as removing some details around edges while keeping core elements intact; this included dropping out some shading effects, which gave it a cleaner look overall while still maintaining a recognizable identity among sports fans all over the country regardless if they follow college or professional leagues alike! The latest iteration came just last year when Texas A&M–Corpus Christi decided to modernize their existing brand by introducing new font typefaces alongside an updated color scheme consisting primarily of navy blues accented with bright oranges/yellows giving fresh yet familiar feel anyone can appreciate instantly, upon seeing them anywhere whether be digital platforms like social media networks websites etcetera...
Overall there have been quite a few iterations made since inception. Still, the spirit behind the original concept remains the same: To honor both schools represented through unique combination symbols representing them individually together, forming unified whole symbolizing strength, unity, commitment, and excellence achieved through hard work, dedication, and perseverance - something every fan should aspire strive towards achieving greatness no matter what sports team you root for!
