Pirates Primary Logo
The Seton Hall Pirates have a long and proud history. Their primary logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in college athletics, representing the school’s commitment to excellence and tradition. The original logo was introduced in 1933, featuring a pirate with crossed swords behind him. This design has remained relatively unchanged over the years, although there have been some minor variations made to it since its introduction.
In 1998, an updated version of this classic logo was unveiled for use on all athletic uniforms as well as other merchandise associated with Seton Hall Athletics. This new version featured more detail than its predecessor including a more detailed image of the pirate himself along with his two crossed swords which had been slightly altered from their original appearance back in 1933 when they were first used by then-athletic director Jack Farrelly Jr. Additionally, this new design also included several elements that paid homage to both Seton Hall's Catholic roots such as crosses on either side of the sword blades and even an outline resembling a bishop's miter at the top center above them all symbolizing faithfulness and loyalty within their community.
Today’s modern iteration features only slight changes from what we saw nearly two decades ago but still pays tribute to where it came from - honoring both past traditions while looking forward to future successes for Pirate nation! With each passing year comes another opportunity for growth not just athletically but academically too; something that can be seen clearly through how far our beloved logos come since those early days back at 33rd Street & Broadway Avenue when Jack Farrelly Jr., proudly presented us our very first set sail into uncharted waters!
