The history of the Wofford Terriers' primary logo is a fascinating journey that reflects the evolution of the college's athletic program. The very first badge for the Wofford Terriers was created in 1925 and remained with the teams for thirty years. This initial logo was a simple black and white image of a terrier, drawn in profile facing to the left, enclosed within a white roundel with a black outline.
Over the years, the logo underwent several changes, reflecting the growth and development of the Wofford Terriers. However, it wasn't until 2015 that a significant shift occurred in the logo's design. For the first time, a living creature was placed on the emblem, marking a new era in the visual identity of the Terriers.
The 2015 logo featured a Terrier head in black and white, a departure from the previous designs. This logo, which was initially used as a secondary logo from 1987 to 2015, became the primary logo in 2015. The new design was more dynamic and modern, reflecting the Terriers' spirit of tenacity and resilience.
