Trojans Primary Logo
The Little Rock Trojans have a long and storied history in NCAA sports, and their primary logo has been an integral part of that. The current version of the logo was first unveiled in 2000, but its roots date back to the early 1950s when it was originally designed by legendary Arkansas artist John F. Gresham III.
Gresham’s design featured a shield with two crossed arrows at its center, each arrow representing one of Little Rock’s two universities – the University Of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and Philander Smith College (PSC). Above the shield were three stars symbolizing excellence while below it was four lines signifying unity among all students regardless of race or religion. This original design served as inspiration for future iterations over time as various changes have been made to modernize it while still keeping true to Gresham's vision from so many years ago.
In 2006, UALR underwent another rebranding effort which saw several updates being made to their primary logo including adding more vibrant colors like red & black along with some subtle tweaks such as changing the shape from rectangular into an oval-like form complete with curved edges giving off a sleek new look overall. In addition, they also added text within this newly modified emblem reading “Little Rock Trojans” which further emphasized both institutions' commitment towards athletic excellence through teamwork & collaboration amongst everyone involved no matter what background they come from.
Today, this updated version remains largely unchanged since then though minor adjustments are sometimes made depending on how teams choose to use them across different mediums like apparel or signage etcetera. It is truly remarkable how much these logos have evolved throughout history yet remain recognizable symbols associated strongly with UALR athletics even after all these years later!
