Panthers Primary Logo

Prairie View A&M University's Panther's primary logo has a long and storied history. Founded in 1876, the school is one of the oldest historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Texas. The school adopted its first official mascot, "The Panther," soon after it was founded. As such, it stands to reason that Prairie View A&M's Panther's primary logo would be steeped in tradition from its inception as well.

The original design featured an illustration of a panther with two yellow stripes running down his back-representing strength and courage-which were set against a navy blue background representing loyalty to school spirit colors; orange was also used for accentuation purposes on some versions of this classic logo design. In addition to being found on apparel items like t-shirts or hats, this iconic image often appeared prominently displayed on banners at sporting events held by Prairie View A&M University over the years since its introduction in 1876 up until today when it remains part of their visual identity system even though there have been several variations released throughout time.

In 2017, Prairie View unveiled an updated version that maintained many aspects from previous designs while adding new elements such as more vibrant colors along with shading effects which brought out greater detail within each individual elements making up their newly revised look for their beloved Panther mascot symbolizing honor & pride among students & alumni alike -a reminder that regardless how much things change over time; traditions are still respected here at PVAMU! This latest iteration further emphasizes just how important visuals can be when communicating certain messages about any given institution’s values & beliefs – something which will undoubtedly continue to remain true going forward into future generations who call themselves “Panthers” proudly wearing these iconic symbols across campus grounds everywhere they go!
