Rams Primary Logo
The Virginia Commonwealth Rams have a proud history of athletics, and their primary logo has been an integral part of that. The original VCU Rams logo was introduced in 1982 and featured the iconic “V” for Virginia with a ram’s head inside it. This design served as the university's official representation until 1996 when they updated it to feature more modernized colors and graphics.
In 2011, VCU unveiled its new primary logo which features bolder lines, brighter colors and sharper details than ever before. This update also included adding two stars above the “V” to represent excellence in academics as well as athletics at VCU. In addition to this change came a brand-new secondary mascot called Rodney Rambunctious who is often seen alongside Ram Nation on game days cheering on our beloved team!
The current version of the Virginia Commonwealth Rams' Primary Logo is one that truly captures all aspects of what makes them great: their commitment to excellence both academically & athletically while still showing off their traditional roots with elements like the classic “V” shape & ram's head inside it - making sure everyone knows where they come from! No matter how much time passes or how many updates are made throughout the years; one thing remains true - we will always be proud members of #RamNation!
