Huskies Primary Logo
The Connecticut Huskies' primary logo has a long and storied history. It is one of the most iconic logos in all of the college sports, representing the University of Connecticut’s athletic teams since 1934. The original design was created by legendary graphic designer Ernie Cuneo, who had previously designed logos for other universities such as Yale and Harvard.
The classic look features a husky dog with its head turned to the side while wearing an old-style UConn baseball cap that reads “UConn” on it. This logo has been used consistently throughout UConn athletics ever since its introduction over eighty years ago; however, there have been some minor changes made over time to modernize it slightly for today's audiences. In recent years, for example, the color palette shifted from navy blue and white to navy blue and silver which better reflects the current school colors at Uconn. Additionally, the font style changed from block letters to italics in order to give off more energy when viewing it.
Today, this classic version remains beloved among students and alumni fans alike as they proudly display their team spirit with this timeless symbol. From t-shirts jerseys hats flags banners etc., you can find this famous husky just about anywhere around campus or online showing just how popular he still is! With so much history behind him, we can be sure that he will continue being part of our lives here at Uconn well into future generations!
